Eagles Drop Regular Season Finale

Friday March 5, 2010

Apple Valley (16-6, 19-7) dropped their regular season finale to Chaska (12-10, 15-11) 78-75 at Chaska on Friday.

The first half saw 8 lead changes and seven ties before Valley would lead 43-39 at halftime.

The Eagles would lead by as many as 8 in the second half before the Hawks would rally for a tie.

Valley would build a five-point lead at the 3:18 mark but Chaska battled back en route to the victory.

Tom Schalk led all Apple Valley scorers with 25 points.  Three other Eagles were in double digits: Tyus Jones with 19, Zach Johnson with 16 and Isiah Thomas with 11.

Jones handed out 11 assists and Schalk and Thomas each grabbed 8 rebounds.

Apple Valley will now play Park (0-18, 1-25) on Wednesday in the Section 3AAAA Quarterfinals.  The Eagles earned the top seed in the tournament and will play host to the eight seeded Wolfpack at 7:00pm.
